Woman charged with murder at HDB flat in North Bridge Road

SINGAPORE - A Thai national was charged in court on Tuesday with the murder of a man at a flat in North Bridge Road on Sunday.

Sukanya Praphuttha, 41, who appeared shaken, is alleged to have caused the death of Mr Lee Yang Boo, 55, at the unit in Block 8 between 12.32am and 4.39am that day. The charge was read to her by a Thai interpreter.

According to a statement, police were informed that a man had a fall at the flat at 4.39am. The man was conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

The prosecution applied for Sukanya to be remanded at Changi Women's Prison for psychiatric assessment. The case will be mentioned again on March 24.
