Two PCF principals charged with criminal breach of trust involving $92,700

SINGAPORE - Two PAP Community Foundation (PCF) pre-school centre principals have been charged with criminal breach of trust involving a total of $92,724.

On Monday, Bavani V R Kumaran was charged with unlawfully taking a total of $13,538 from the PCF Sparkletots Preschool at Block 644, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, while she was the head of that pre-school.

She allegedly took the money on two occasions, and used it for her own expenses.

On the first occasion, sometime between January and November 2014, she purportedly took $6,690.

Sometime between January and October last year, she allegedly took $6,848 from the centre.

Bavani's case will be mentioned again in four weeks' time, on March 22.

In another case, Anna Koh alias Susie Koh was charged last Friday with misappropriating a total of $79,184 from the PCF Centre at Block 515, Jurong West Street 51, while she was head of that early childhood education centre.

She allegedly unlawfully took the money on four occasions.

On the first, sometime between August and November 2010, she purportedly took $1,419.

Sometime between February and December 2011, she allegedly took $27,307 from the centre.

Koh purportedly took $50,409 sometime in 2012, and $49 sometime in July 2013.

A pre-trial conference for Koh has been fixed for March 24.

The maximum punishment for criminal breach of trust is 15 years' jail and a fine.
