Three men charged with consumption and possession of cannabis

SINGAPORE - Three men in their 20s were charged in court on Thursday with possessing and consuming cannabis.

Dexter Foo, 23, Trevor Soh, 24, and Wong Zixiong, 24, are accused of consuming cannabis, a Class A controlled drug, and possessing it on May 29 at their various residences.

Foo and Soh face four charges, while Wong faces three.

Foo is accused of consuming and possessing cannabis in Singapore and having utensils such as an improvised glass smoking apparatus and metal grinder.

Soh was charged with consuming cannabis outside Singapore, and with possessing it at home, along with an improvised glass smoking apparatus and plastic grinder.

Wong allegedly consumed and possessed cannabis in Singapore, along with a packet of rolling paper.

The three, who were charged separately but are believed to be friends, will next appear before the court on Aug 18.

If found guilty of possessing or consuming cannabis, they face up to 10 years' imprisonment, a fine of up to $20,000, or both.

For possessing utensils intended for drug consumption, they face up to three years' imprisonment, a fine of up to $5,000, or both.
