Teen held for alleged trespass

A 14-year-old teenager, who was believed to be carrying an airsoft gun, was arrested after he allegedly entered a house without permission.

Police said they were alerted to a case of house trespass at about 7pm on Saturday.

According to Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News, the teen is believed to have entered the house in Lorong L Telok Kurau by climbing over a metal fence.

The newspaper quoted an eyewitness as saying the teen was carrying an airsoft gun, and at least three people saw him with the weapon.

About 20 police officers arrived and arrested him for alleged trespass.

Airsoft guns, or any guns that shoot pellets using compressed gas, are controlled items under the Arms and Explosives Act.

Police investigations are ongoing.
