A 26-year-old man has been arrested for stealing female undergarments in Bedok, the police said yesterday.

He is believed to have done so on at least two occasions.

The police were alerted to a case of undergarment theft at Block 135, Bedok Reservoir Road, on Monday.

After investigations and with reference to footage from police cameras, Bedok Police Division officers identified the suspect and arrested him on Thursday along Bedok Reservoir Road.

The suspect, who was not named by police, was also caught on camera in a video that went viral earlier this week.

A woman, who gave her name only as Chen, told citizen journalism site Stomp that bras she placed on a clothes rack along the corridor started going missing one to two months ago.

She installed a camera outside her flat and later put footage of the thief online.

Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone convicted of theft can be jailed for up to three years and/or fined.
