Suspected molester arrested after attack on woman in Bedok HDB block

SINGAPORE - A 27-year-old man suspected of involvement in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty was arrested on Wednesday .

He allegedly restrained and molested a woman at a Housing Board block on Bedok Reservoir Road before fleeing on Saturday.

Police identified him through CCTV footage installed at the block's lift lobby.

The suspect is also believed to have been involved in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty reported in August.

Aggravated outrage of modesty is an offence in which fear of death, hurt, or wrongful restraint is caused to the victim, or if the offence is committed in a lift or against a child under 14.

The man is expected to be charged on Friday. If found guilty, he could be jailed between two and ten years, and caned.
