SINGAPORE - The two Pakistani nationals accused of murdering a compatriot whose legless body was stuffed inside a suitcase were remanded for psychiatric assessment on Friday.
Rasheed Muhammad, 43, and Ramzan Rizwan, 25, will be assessed at the Complex Medical Centre in Changi until July 11 when the case will be mentioned again.
They were charged last Saturday with the murder of Mr Muhammad Noor, 59, at a lodging house in Rowell Road in Little India between midnight on June 10 and 6.04pm on June 11.
Last Wednesday, Mr Muhammad Noor's body was found without his legs in a blood-soaked suitcase at Syed Alwi Road in the Jalan Besar area.
The suspects were nabbed the following day at a shophouse along Rowell Road, not far from where the body was found. Police later found the legs of the victim at a Muslim cemetery at Jalan Kubor off Victoria Street.
The body of Mr Muhammad Noor was flown back to his family in Lahore on Thursday.
