SINGAPORE - A teen who sneaked into someone else's house and sniffed a maid's bra to satisfy his underwear fetish has been ordered by a court to go for compulsory treatment.

Zach Sim Chu Hong, 18, was given a year's Mandatory Treatment Order on Friday for his "fetishistic disorder", after earlier pleading guilty to house trespass at Pine Grove condominium in Clementi on April 11. He could have been jailed for up to a year and fined $3,000 for house trespass.

Sim also has to remain indoors between 11pm and 6am. A community court conference will be held to assess the underlying reasons for his behaviour, and to come up with a treatment plan.

The court heard earlier that Sim had decided to go looking for underwear after watching pornography at his nearby HDB flat at around 2am on April 11. He entered the Pine Grove condominium by its main gate along Ulu Pandan Road and climbed into the balcony of one of the units.

Inside, he looked for family photographs to get an idea of who was living there, and went to the back of the home after spotting a picture of the 40-year-old maid.

He then entered the Filipino's room, which was not locked, and started smelling the bra, one of several items hanging on a hook. But he bumped into her bed frame and woke her up. Sim ran off but was later caught by the police.
