Singapore man charged with causing hurt to another with knife

SINGAPORE - A man was charged on Thursday with causing hurt to his victim by striking him with a kitchen knife at a coffeeshop in Bukit Panjang.

Lim Poh Hin, 46, allegedly struck Mr Loh Peng Seng, 57, with the 15cm-long knife at the coffeeshop at Block 103 Gangsa Road at 1.22am on Wednesday, causing him to suffer two cuts on his back.

No plea was taken.

He is being remanded at Jurong Police Division for a week for further investigation.

The case will be mentioned on May 29. If convicted, he could be jailed for up to seven years, fined, caned or received any combined punishment.
