Public access to State Courts to shift to Upper Cross Street from Havelock Road

SINGAPORE - From Saturday (Dec 3), the public entrance to the State Courts Building will be shifted to Upper Cross Street where a new vehicle passenger pick-up and drop-off point has been set up.

Current access to the State Courts Building via the passenger pick-up and drop-off point outside the Family Justice Courts Building will no longer be available.

State Courts users and visitors walking to the State Courts Building from People's Park Centre and Chinatown MRT Station Exit D can use a new temporary sheltered walkway erected along Upper Cross Street.

Vehicle access to Havelock Square from Havelock Road and New Market Road will be closed from 10pm on Friday.

For users of the Family Justice Courts, a new passenger pick-up and drop-off point has been established next to the Family Justice Courts Building along New Market Road (opposite Furama City Centre Hotel). Access to this new passenger pick-up/drop-off point is via Havelock Road.

There is no change to pedestrian access route to the Family Justice Courts Building . The pedestrian access route to the building from Chinatown MRT Station Exit D, People's Park Centre and Havelock Road remains unchanged.

A State Courts spokesman said the new measures are meant to facilitate the on-going construction works for the new State Court Towers which are slated to be operational from 2020.
