Primary school vice-principal accused of committing sexual acts on underage boy

SINGAPORE - A man who was the vice-principal of a primary school in the north-eastern part of Singapore has been hauled to court for allegedly committing an indecent act on an underage boy at his workplace in 2003.

The man, who is now 55 years old, is accused of stroking the child's private parts in the school gym, the court heard.

Court documents do not state if the boy, who was then 14 years old, was from the same school.

The man is not named to protect the alleged victim's identity.

According to court documents, the boy then went to the vice-principal's Woodlands flat twice in 2004, where the man allegedly performed similar indecent acts on him.

He is also accused of receiving and performing oral sex on the boy in the unit in 2005 and 2006.

Court papers did not mention how the offences came to light.

The man was found to be in possession of nine obscene and one uncensored films in his home on Nov 27, 2015.

He was first charged last month.

He now faces six counts of carnal intercourse, three counts of committing indecent acts on a minor and two charges under the Films Act.

The man will be back in court on Oct 4.

If convicted of carnal intercourse, he can be jailed for up to 10 years and fined on each charge.

First-time offenders convicted of committing an indecent act on a minor can be jailed for up to five years and fined up to $10,000 on each charge.
