Police arrest 22-year-old man filmed fighting outside Geylang coffee shop

SINGAPORE - A 22-year-old man was arrested in relation to a case of public nuisance in Geylang early Thursday (March 15).

Videos of a fight outside a coffee shop at Lorong 19 Geylang were shared online on Thursday night by Facebook user Banny Fei, and show a man shouting and gesturing violently as a group of people try to hold him back.

Another man could be seen lying on the road in the dashboard camera video footage.

The police said they were alerted to case of public nuisance at about 3am.

The man was arrested for uttering threatening words and the use of criminal force against a public servant, they said.

The Straits Times understands that the man had resisted arrest and hurled vulgarities at a police officer.

The scuffle happened after he attacked a man who was eating at the coffee shop.

Police investigations are ongoing.
