Motorcyclist killed in accident involving dumpster along CTE towards SLE

SINGAPORE - A motorcyclist died on Saturday afternoon in a horrific accident involving a dumpster, on the Central Expressway (CTE) in the direction of Seletar Expressway (SLE).

Eyewitnesses said the accident happened around 2.30pm near the exit for Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5.

They said the motorcyclist was dragged by the truck for about 50 m and pinned under the tyres of the vehicle. His motorcycle was mangled and his helmet was seen flung onto the extreme right lane of the four-lane expressway.

Traffic slowed and caused a jam starting from the Braddell Road exit on the CTE.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call at 2.27pm. Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead on the spot and no one else was injured.
