SINGAPORE - A 20-year-old man was charged on Friday (Oct 30) with molesting a teenage girl at a Housing Board common corridor.

Lim Jun Hao allegedly touched the 17-year-old student's breast and caused wrongful restraint by placing a plastic bag over her head, thus restricting her movement, at the corridor of a block of flats in Hougang Avenue 8 on Wednesday.

The prosecution successfully applied for him to be remanded for investigation as he is believed to be involved in similar cases.

A police statement said Lim was arrested about two hours after the teen lodged a police report.

His case will be mentioned on Nov 6.

If convicted, he could be jailed for two to 10 years and caned.
