A 57-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he was caught throwing household items and cans of paint from his fourth-storey Housing Board flat to the carpark below.
Police said they were alerted to the case at 15, Upper Boon Keng Road at 10.20am.
"A man was reported to be throwing household items and cans of paint from his residential unit," the police said.
The man was arrested for committing a rash act and also under the Mental Health Act.
The Straits Times understands that he lives alone.
Photos show at least two cars in the carpark that had been smeared with white paint but no injuries were reported.
A video shows officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) at the scene, where curious onlookers had also gathered.
An SCDF spokesman told The Straits Times that it received a call for assistance at 10.55am and immediately dispatched its resources to the location.
