Man arrested for alleged housebreaking and theft in Bukit Batok

SINGAPORE - A 58-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly breaking into an office near Bukit Batok Street 11 and stealing from it.

In a news release on Tuesday, police said the victim had found that his office was broken into at about 7.40am on April 1. Cash amounting to $2,400 was allegedly stolen.

The suspect was found after extensive investigations by officers from Jurong Police Division. The accused could face charges of housebreaking and theft by night.

He could be jailed up to 14 years and fined.
