Man, 28, arrested by police for sexual assault

SINGAPORE - A 28-year-old Singaporean man was been arrested by the police on Monday for allegedly molesting and sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman.

The victim was assaulted at the lift area of a flat in Marsiling Drive on Sunday, at around 3.50am. The man ran away, but the woman made a police report immediately after the incident.

Police established the suspect's identity after investigations and viewing footage from police cameras and CCTV cameras in the area. He was arrested at 7pm the next day around Shipyard Road.

If convicted, he may be jailed up to 20 years, fined and caned.
