SINGAPORE - A 21-year-old man was hospitalised after an alleged dispute ended in violence in Yishun on Sunday (April 2) night.

The police said they received a call at around 7.49pm about a case of voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon at Block 145, Yishun Street 11.

The Straits Times understands that the weapon involved was a knife, and that the attack was sparked by a long-standing dispute.

The victim was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, which was alerted to be on standby to receive him. The Singapore Civil Defence Force, which dispatched an ambulance, said he suffered multiple injuries.

A resident who spoke to Yahoo Singapore said he heard a commotion and saw a man running away from the scene when he ventured downstairs for a look.

Police investigations are ongoing.
