Lorry driver's right arm severed in Tuas accident

SINGAPORE - A 40-year-old lorry driver severed his right arm in an accident in Tuas on Monday afternoon (Feb 5).

The police said they were alerted to the accident at Tuas South Avenue 4, in the direction of Tuas South Avenue 1, at 12.55pm.

Photos posted on Facebook group SG Road Vigilante show the lorry lying on its side next to a road guard rail.

Its front windscreen was completely shattered and some items from the vehicle were strewn on the ground.

The lorry driver was unconscious when taken to the National University Hospital.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that the hospital was alerted to be on standby to receive him.

The Straits Times understands the man's right arm was severed in the accident.

Police investigations are ongoing.
