SINGAPORE - A guest relation officer at the Amara Sanctuary Resort abused his position as a hotel staff member and snapped nude photographs of a teenage guest while she was changing in a toilet cubicle.

Kenneth Ho Weixian, now 28, was sentenced on Friday (June 2) to six weeks' jail after pleading guilty to criminal trespass and insulting a woman's modesty.

A second criminal trespass charge and five other counts of insulting a woman's modesty were taken into consideration during sentencing.

He committed the offences between November 2014 and January 2015.

The 19-year-old tourist, who was staying at the hotel located at Larkhill Road in Sentosa, had entered a toilet at the lobby at around 3.30pm on Jan 20, 2015 to change into her swimwear.

Ho, who was on duty, spotted the teenager and followed her into the toilet to snap her pictures with his mobile phone.

After she undressed, she suddenly noticed his hand holding the phone from the gap between between the bottom of the cubicle door and the floor.

He managed to snap about five pictures of her in the nude before she screamed, causing him to withdraw his hand.

The teenager then ran out to try and catch him after putting on her clothes.

The court heard Ho fled into a nearby handicapped toilet to hide and delete the incriminating photographs.

He was caught when he stepped out.

Ho is now out on a bail of $5,000 and will surrender himself in the State Courts on June 19.

For criminal trespass, he could have been jailed up to three months and fined up to $1,500.

And for insulting a woman's modesty, he could have been jailed up to a year and fined.
