Four suspected illegal immigrants caught on speedboat heading to Tanah Merah

SINGAPORE - Four foreigners will be charged with entering Singapore illegally on Monday after they were intercepted on a speedboat heading towards Tanah Merah.

The group, who are aged between 23 and 39, were seized along with 532 cartons of contraband by coastal police and immigration authorities just before midnight on Saturday.

Coast guards detected the vessel in Singapore waters and alerted various land and sea resources.
