Coffee shop worker charged with murder of man in Hougang void deck

SINGAPORE - A 50-year-old man was charged in court on Friday (Feb 26) with the murder of a man at a void deck in Hougang on Thursday.

Khor Tzoong Meng allegedly caused the death of Mr Ang Kim Keat, 38, at the void deck of Block 23, Hougang Avenue 3 between 2.09 and 2.11am that day.

Mr Ang was found injured at the scene and was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3.28am.

Khor, a part-time coffee shop worker, was arrested near Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 that morning.

Khor, represented by Mr Josephus Tan, was remanded for further investigation. He will be back in court on March 4.

If convicted, he faces the death penalty.
