CNB operation nets 89 suspects and drugs worth more than $47,000

Drugs estimated to be worth more than $47,000 were seized and 89 suspected drug offenders were arrested in a four-day islandwide operation by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

Carried out from April 21 to 25, the operation culminated in suspects nabbed across various neighbourhoods including Balestier, Bedok Reservoir, Boon Lay, Bukit Merah, Clementi, Ghim Moh, Hougang, Jalan Berseh, Jurong, Marsiling, Rochor, Tampines,Toa Payoh and Woodlands.

Among them were two Singaporean men, aged 51 and 54, found inside a room of a house suspected of being a "heroin store" in the vicinity of Upper Serangoon Road. Officers recovered a total of about 124g of heroin and a small amount of 'Ice', estimated to be worth more than $13,000, from within this room.

The drugs seized across all four days included about 400g of heroin, 15g of 'Ice', 92g of cannabis, and 37 Erimin-5 tablets. Investigations are currently ongoing.
