CNB arrests 98 drug suspects in 11-day islandwide operation

SINGAPORE - Close to 100 suspected drug offenders were arrested in an 11-day operation, the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said.

A total of 98 suspects were arrested from March 27 to Friday (April 7) and CNB seized illegal drugs worth over $39,000.

The drugs included about 300g of heroin, 135g of Ice, 24g of cannabis, 33 Ecstasy tablets, 58 Erimin-5 tablets and small amounts of LSD and ketamine.

The islandwide operation, supported by the Singapore Police Force, was carried out in Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Merah, Clementi, Commonwealth, Geylang, Jurong West, Pasir Ris, Telok Blangah and Ubi.

In one case, a 42-year-old Singaporean man was arrested in Jurong West.

A search of his home turned up about 90g of heroin, 7g of Ice and various drug paraphernalia, CNB said.

Investigations into the drug activities of all the arrested persons are ongoing.
