SINGAPORE - A 76-year-old former relief teacher was charged in court on Wednesday with two counts of molesting a pupil below 14 years of age at a school in Hougang.

Bok Tin Fok allegedly kissed the girl, then eight, somewhere outside the school hall along the corridor near the staff room once in 2013.

He is also accused of kissing the girl outside the school library once last year, when she was nine years old.

His lawyer Edmond Pereira said he will be making representations and applying for a medical report. He also said his client is likely to plead guilty.

Bok, whose passport has been impounded, is out on $10,000 bail.

The case is fixed for a pre-trial conference on Aug 3.

If convicted, he could be jailed for up to five years and fined.
