7 nabbed in operation against public entertainment outlets in Bugis, Tanjong Pagar

SINGAPORE - Six women and a man have been arrested for employment-related offences in a police operation against public entertainment outlets in Bugis and Tanjong Pagar on Sunday (Feb 25).

The six women are aged between 19 and 40, and the man is 59 years old, the police said in a statement on Sunday.

Officers from the Central Police Division conducted enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets along Beach Road and Tras Street.

The operators of the entertainment outlets had allegedly employed foreigners without work permits, which is an offence under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, the statement said.

The police said that action will also be taken against the operators for contravening their licensing conditions.

In addition, the police said they will continue to take a tough enforcement stance against such activities.
