SINGAPORE - Home Team officers arrested 29 people afer a 17-hour joint sting that started at 9am on Tuesday.

Officers from the Police, Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force conducted checks at public entertainment outlets and public housing estates in Sembawang, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang, Punggol and Sengkang.

Out of the 29 suspects, 25 were arrested for drug-related offences. Two were arrested for illegal gambling, and another two for offences under the Societies Act.

One public entertainment outlet was found to have breached the Public Entertainment and Liquor Licensing Conditions, while another was found to have breached fire safety requirements.

Officers seized drugs in the operation as well, including five packets of 'ice' weighing about 25g in total and seven ecstasy pills.

Two handphones used in the commission of the betting offences were seized too.

Investigations are ongoing.
