26-year-old man arrested for molesting woman

SINGAPORE - A 26-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty at Block 201, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3.

At about 5.50am on on Thursday (Feb 15), the police received a report from a 24-year- old victim that she had been molested by an unknown man.

The man had allegedly attempted to befriend her before molesting her.

He then fled towards the direction of Block 202 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, the police said in a statement on Thursday night.

The man was arrested along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 on the same day following investigations by officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Anyone convicted for the offence of Outrage of Modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code, Chapter 224 is liable for a jail term of up to 2 years, or with fine, caning, or with any combination of such punishments.
