SINGAPORE - A 22-year-old man suspected of wounding a bouncer with a weapon at a Sentosa Gateway club on Sunday has been arrested.
The police said in a statement on Wednesday that officers from the Clementi Police Division apprehended the suspect near Clementi Avenue 5 on Tuesday after extensive investigations.
Police were first alerted to the incident at a St James Power Station club on Sunday morning at 4.30am. Preliminary investigations found that the 29-year-old male victim is believed to have been attacked after telling the suspect to leave the club because of his rowdy behaviour.
A witness at the scene earlier said that the victim was slashed in the throat and suffered a deep gash of about 2cm long. The victim was later warded at the Singapore General Hospital.
The suspect will be charged in court on Wednesday for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
If found guilty, he may be jailed up to seven years, fined, caned, or receive any combination of the punishments.
