17-year-old suspect arrested for string of vandalism cases in Tanjong Katong

SINGAPORE - A 17-year-old suspected of involvement in a series of vandalism cases has been arrested, the police said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 16).

Several residents in Tanjong Katong estate had reported cases of flags and vehicles being damaged between July and August. Officers from the Bedok division investigated and arrested the suspect on Sunday.

Investigations are ongoing.

If found guilty, the suspect could face up to three years of imprisonment or a fine of up to $2,000, and caning of not less than three strokes and not more than eight strokes.
