16-year-old arrested for suspected motor vehicle theft

SINGAPORE - A 16-year-old has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of motor vehicle theft.

At about 5pm on June 25, a 48-year-old man reported that his motorcycle was stolen from a multi-storey carpark at Marsiling Drive.

The stolen motorcycle was subsequently recovered by the police along Marsiling Drive on the same day at 9.13pm, police said in a news release on Tuesday (July 12).

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of police cameras, officers from the Jurong Division established the suspect's identity and arrested him at Block 128, Marsiling Rise, on Monday at about 3pm.

For his offence, police said the suspect could face a maximum jail term of seven years and a fine.
