Courses on positive work-life balance

Courses and workshops on good family living and parenting for executives will begin in January, almost a year after the setting up of Family First Global, a not-for-profit company affiliated to Mr Gregory Slayton's foundation.

About 40 senior management staff from TSL Holdings, Asia's leading investment company based in Singapore, will attend weekly sessions to learn how to achieve a positive work-life balance and holistic family living.

"We are still developing the materials and working out the details..," said Singapore's Family First Global executive director Kevin Graves, 54.

He added that his company's programmes target businesses, with its "Seven Fs" approach, comprising Fun, Friends, Family Relationships, Faith and Fulfilment plus Finance and Fitness.

"We have about 10 volunteers who are professionals from all fields," added Mr Graves, who is also a pastor at Cornerstone Community Church in East Coast Road.

Mr Slayton first came to Singapore to give a talk to fathers from the Dads for Life movement after the publication of his book, Be A Better Dad Today!, in 2012.

Mr Graves later met him in China where Mr Slayton had planned to start Family First networks before changing his mind.

Mr Slayton then decided to target Chinese communities elsewhere instead, starting with Taiwan, Indonesia and the Philippines and now Singapore. The move, Mr Graves said, is in tandem with Mr Slayton's objective for a Family First Greater China in the long term.
