The annual Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Career Fair 2013 on Tuesday featured a new "energy pavilion" to connect tertiary students with jobs in the energy industry.

The pavilion included Singapore Power, Sembcorp and Tuas Power, among others.

At the opening ceremony on Tuesday, NTU's Provost Professor Freddy Boey said that Singapore would require approximately 2,400 new technical professionals, including power engineers, in the energy sector over the next 10 years. A Power Sector Manpower Taskforce was set up in 2012 to study the manpower needs of the power sector.

The career fair, which features 213 employers offering more than 3,000 jobs, will be held again on Jan 25.
