SINGAPORE - ComfortDelGro Taxis clocked its 10 millionth booking job this week.

New records were also set for the highest number of successful bookings in a single day and in a single hour - 130,000, or more than 5,500 every hour.

ComfortDelGro Taxis chief executive Yang Ban Seng attributed the achievements to its improved ComfortDelGro app, better despatch algorithm and marketing, as well as continuous support from commuters and cabbies.

Mr Yang said: "We are leveraging on two of our strengths - a large taxi fleet size as well as very active cabbies to cater to our customers' taxi bookings round the clock."

To mark the milestones, the company is giving a discount of $5 off the metered fare for the first 2,000 customers who book a ComfortDelGro taxi using the promotional code "10MIL" via the ComfortDelGro app today (April 15) and tomorrow (April 16).

The discount applies only to current booking jobs and is limited to one redemption per mobile number. The company will also waive the booking levy for its cabbies during the two days.
