Certificate of entitlement (COE) prices ended mixed in the latest tender on Wednesday.
COE for cars up to 1,600cc rose slightly to end at $74,991, up from $72,609 previously. COE for cars above 1,600cc dipped from $84,578 to $79,300. And Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly for bigger cars, slid from $89,001 to $83,000.
Commercial vehicle COE ended lower at $55,002, down from $55,503. And motorcycle premium was a tad higher at $1,712, up from $1,710.
Industry watchers said the weakened stock and property markets had affected sentiment among car buyers - especially those in the above-1,600cc segment. But aggressive promotions to clear stock ahead of rule changes next year have kept the market for smaller cars relatively buoyant.
