An island-wide anti-drug operation by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) which started on Tuesday and stretched to Friday saw the arrest of 86 drug offenders and the seizure of a variety of drugs.
The drugs, estimated to be worth more than $39,000, included about 304g of heroin, 32g of 'Ice' and 12g of cannabis. Small amounts of ketamine, Erimin-5 and ecstasy tablets were also seized, said CNB in a statement on Friday. The police were also involved in the operation.
In one of the operations, a party of CNB officers raided a unit at Hougang Avenue 8 on Wednesday and arrested a 48-year-old male. They also recovered about 52g of heroin estimated to be worth more than $5000. Cash amounting up to S$2,650, believed to be the illicit proceeds from the sale of drugs, was also recovered.
Some of the areas covered in CNB's islandwide operation were Ang Mo Kio, Beach Road, Clementi, Toa Payoh and Woodlands.
