Close to 90 people arrested in police and narcotics bureau joint operation

An 18-hour island-wide blitz by the Singapore Police Force and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Monday netted 87 people for drug-related offences, and five for suspected involvement in gang-related activities, immigration and employment offences.

The joint operation saw more than 200 officers from both agencies conduct checks on 460 people, said the police and CNB in a statement today.

The operation also yielded more than $180,000 worth of Heroin, and 300g of Ice.

In particular, a drug seizure at a hotel room in Mountbatten resulted in a 34-year-old Singaporean man being arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. More than $23,000 worth of Ice and various drug paraphernalia were seized.

Separately, in a CNB operation at Changi Road yesterday, three were arrested - one on suspicion of being a drug courier, and two for suspected drug trafficking. The arrests were made after officers spotted two of the suspects meeting up. This operation saw about $150,000 worth of drugs being seized. Investigations against the three men are ongoing.
