China's transport minister in Singapore from April 18-20

Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew met his China counterpart, Mr Yang Chuantang, on Thursday to discuss transport cooperation and issues of mutual interest.

Mr Yang, China's Transport Minister, also visited the Land Transport Authority of Singapore to exchange views on the Republic's urban transport policies and development.

In addition, Mr Yang presented US$200,000 to the Aids to Navigation Fund to Mr Lui, who accepted it on behalf on the fund committee. The fund disburses money for the maintenance and replacement of the 51 principal navigation aids in the straits of Malacca and Singapore, such as lighthouse and buoys.

Mr Yang will be in Singapore till Saturday.
