ChildAid show raises record $2.33m

SINGAPORE - This year's ChildAid concert ended on a high note, raising a record $2.33 million for needy students and budding student artists.

The charity show, now in its 10th edition, was staged last Friday and Saturday. More than 200 young performers wowed the audience at the Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands with their high-octane dance moves and polished musical acts. The All-Stars Edition featured several famous ChildAid alumni such as pianist Abigail Sin, pop singer Farisha Ishak, soprano Janani Sridhar and classical guitarist Kevin Loh.

In the finale, the entire cast performed the theme song A World To Imagine, specially composed by the late Iskandar Ismail in 2006 and featured every year since.

The annual concert is organised by The Straits Times and The Business Times in aid of the ST School Pocket Money Fund, which financially supports needy students, and the BT Budding Artists Fund, which helps needy students with arts training.
