Needy and elderly residents in Marsiling now have a chest X-ray facility closer to their doorstep.

The facility, housed in a bus parked near the Sunlove Seniors Activity Centre at Block 3 Marsiling Road, was set up yesterday as part of the centre's Chinese New Year celebrations.

It can be used to check if people have tuberculosis or other lung infections.

About 110 residents used the facility yesterday, and wheelchairs were also presented to a few elderly residents.

Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob (above, in purple), who is also an MP for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC, was guest of honour at the event.
