Cheaper town gas for half of Singapore's homes from November

SINGAPORE - Households using City Gas will pay less for their town gas from Nov 1 to Jan 31 next year.

City Gas, which reviews its gas tariffs based on guidelines set by gas industry regulator Energy Market Authority, said on Tuesday that gas tariffs will fall by 0.23 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) over the period.

Gas tariffs will fall from 21.06 to 20.83 cents per kWh, it said, due to a drop in fuel costs compared to the previous quarter of the year.
