Megan Loy, 19, who suffered severe burns in a water-park incident in Taiwan in June last year, has turned adversity into triumph. She has become one of 300 freshmen admitted into the National University of Singapore's Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine this year. She said it was her brush with death and four-month hospital stay that deepened her conviction to become a doctor and help save lives.
