Businesses to get more help to be pro-family

Businesses can look forward to more support from the Government to create a family-friendly environment.

From April 1, businesses with more than one establishment can claim up to 70 per cent of what they spend on pro-family features, such as wheelchairs and strollers, and infrastructure cost. They can claim up to $100,000 - an increase from the current cap of $80,000.

This is part of an initiative by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) to help the businesses be family-friendly.

Called FamilyMatters@Business grant, $4 million will be set aside over the next three years, said Acting MSF Minister Chan Chun Sing in Parliament earlier this month.

This will replace the current $2.8 million Businesses for Families grant.
