Burst water pipe in Woodlands causes slip road to be closed to traffic

SINGAPORE - A burst water pipe in Woodlands led to flooding and a temporary road closure on Monday .

In a video sent to Chinese evening newspaper Shin Min Daily News by reader Marcus Kuan, muddy water was seen gushing out on a slip road which had to be temporarily closed to traffic. Some foreign workers were also seen in the video helping to direct traffic.

PUB said it received a report of a pipe leak at the junction of Woodlands Avenue 1 and 12 at 10.20am.

Officers from PUB isolated the leak at 11.30am, the national water agency said in a statement.

The repair works were completed on Monday afternoon. It also added that water supply to customers was not affected.

The cause of the leak is under investigation.
