Bukit Timah Saddle Club gets to stay

The Bukit Timah Saddle Club has won a public tender for its existing premises in Fairway Drive, off Eng Neo Avenue.

This means a reprieve for the club, which had been expected to move at the end of last year when its lease expired.

A statement from the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) today said that their new lease will last for an initial three years, which is renewable up till December 2018.

The club had to fight off six other bids, including by fellow riding outfit Gallop Stable and luxury car dealer Motorway.

It secured the tender with a monthly bid rent of $68,850 per month.

The SLA had put the site, which covers almost five hectares of land, up for public tender last October.
