The Education Ministry will bring back the Chinese Good Citizen series of textbooks for Character and Citizenship Education next year. Education Minister Heng Swee Keat announced this in Parliament on Wednesday.

The textbooks will be updated with Singapore stories and lessons that will resonate with students' experience of life, and suggested activities of how parents can get involved, he said.

The textbooks will also be available in the other vernacular languages.

The Good Citizen series was replaced in 1994, by the current Civics and Moral Education textbooks.
