SINGAPORE - The commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral (Fadm) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz Haji Mohammad Tamit, called on Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen at the Defence Ministry on Wednesday.

As part of his three-day farewell visit that ends on Thursday, Fadm Dato Aziz also called on the Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng, and the Chief of Navy, Rear-Admiral Lai Chung Han.

Fadm Dato Aziz's visit underscores the close and long-standing bilateral defence ties between Singapore and Brunei. Mindef said in a statement that interaction between the Republic of Singapore Navy and the RBN includes bilateral exercises, professional exchanges and cross-attendance of courses.

"These interactions not only enhance the professionalism of the two navies, but also strengthen mutual understanding and personal friendships," said Mindef.
