Brunei's Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah yesterday visited the Home Team Tactical Centre, where he witnessed a counter-terrorism demonstration by the Singapore Police Force's elite Special Tactics and Rescue Unit that included an armed assault via vehicle.

He was hosted by Minister for Home Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam.

At the centre in Mandai Quarry Road, the Crown Prince - who is also Senior Minister in the Prime Minister's Office - watched another counter-terrorism demonstration featuring the Ground Response Forces and the Emergency Response Teams as well.

The Rapid Deployment Troops and the Anti-Swarming Teams from the police's Special Operations Command were also involved.

Yesterday's visit ended with the signing of the guestbook, and a gift exchange between Prince Billah and Mr Shanmugam.

The Crown Prince is on a six-day official visit to Singapore, which ends tomorrow, as part of the fourth Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders' Programme.

The programme was launched in 2013 to strengthen close ties between young leaders from both countries.
