SINGAPORE - Readers of Lianhe Zaobao can now access breaking news, news videos and selected special reports, with the latest version of the Chinese daily's iPad app released on Friday.
The revamped app of Singapore Press Holdings' Chinese flagship newspaper offers improved content, functions and design for its digital subscribers, while non-subscribers can access breaking news, news videos, selected special reports and a limited portion of the pay-walled content.
The latest version of the Lianhe Zaobao iPad app released in February 2012 incorporates its e-paper with an all-new tablet design interface. The enhancements include:
- Current and past seven days PDF pages of the newspapers
- Newly created "Prime News" vertical section to showcase the most updated major news events
- News videos, image galleries and special news reports such as Sino-Sin Relations, SG50, Indonesia Politics, to be updated according to news events
- Sharing of news articles on various social media platforms
Lianhe Zaobao editor Goh Sin Teck said: "This revamped app is a significant improvement in both design and functionality, which is a testimony of the team's conviction to deliver the latest and most functional digital products to our readers."
Readers can subscribe to the Lianhe Zaobao All-in-One package, which includes the print edition, Zaobao.sg, iPad app and mobile apps.
