SINGAPORE - One hundred members of the Boys' Brigade (BB) delivered 310 food hampers to 155 needy families in the Jalan Kukoh and Redhill Close areas on Thursday (Dec 17) as part of their 28th annual Share-A-Gift project.

The project managed to meet all 31,858 general wishes for food hampers this year, and 92 per cent of the 8,693 wishes from beneficiaries for specific items such as school bags.

The remaining specific wishes will be granted with a donation of $50,000 from Prudential Singapore. The money will also go towards the project's operating costs.

Though BB will no longer be accepting food donations at the various NTUC Fairprice outlets, members of the public can still donate food and household hampers for the project via the supermarket chain's online portal (www.fairprice.com.sg) or at AXS stations around the island.

BB also still requires 67 vehicles to help deliver food hampers to beneficiaries until Dec 30. Interested parties can sign up at www.bbshare.sg.

"As we move towards the final two weeks of food hamper deliveries, we encourage members of the public to join us, so that all beneficiaries can receive their gifts before the end of the year," said Share-A-Gift 2015 chairman Lui Chong Chee.
